What Is Fame Game?

Every year since 2004 St. Fanahan's College has put on a talent show in the run up to the Christmas Holidays entitled St. Fanahan's Fame Game (simply known as "Fame" by the pupils and teachers here) in which the pupils are given the opportunity to display their vast and varied array of talents by performing musical, dramatic, acrobatic and comedic acts (to highlight only a few) in front of their peers, parents, teachers and other people from the community, and subsequently awarded prizes by both the audience and a specially invited panel of judges on the night.

It was originally set up and run by Enda Ormonde-McCafferty, the drama teacher here at the school, and she has been the chief architect behind it's continual success from the start. Aided by the school's music teacher Cliona Kelleher, who came on board in 2005, the two have ensured that the show has expanded and grown steadily throughout the last 7 years. Consequently it has increased in popularity year upon year, and it is now regarded by many of the pupils and staff here as a highlight of the school year and a proud legacy of our school.

Fame 2011

For the 2011 show, we have a new co-ordianitor temporarily taking over the reigns from Enda; Mark Lyndon, who is currently collaborating with Cliona and compiling the line-up of the show:

"This year's Fame will contain a wide variety of acts to suit all tastes. Each year group will be well represented on stage, with over sixty students taking part. The show will consist of a variety of music, drama and dance acts. We pride ourselves in staging an "event" to rival any in the country, and this year's show will be in keeping with this tradition. We Hope to see you there. You'd be mad to miss it!"

Fame 2011 will take place on Friday December 16th at 19:30 in the school's hall. There will be a shop selling refreshments run by the Parents Association, and there will be a raffle at the interval promising a wide range of prizes.
